Family questions about Kids and Teens on SOTCoin

Plain answers for parents and guardians about what is available today, what is coming in Q3 2026, and how to get your household ready before launch.

Coming Soon ETA Q3 2026

Dedicated Kids and Teens accounts are not yet live on SOTCoin. The closest working feature for families today is Family Groups, which lets parents add household members and set per-member spending limits from their own wallet. The questions below are the ones we hear most often from parents thinking about how SOTCoin will work for their children, and they cover three angles: what is possible right now through Family Groups, what is coming when Kids and Teens tiers open in Q3 2026, and the practical steps you can take now so your household is ready when the new tiers open. If your question is not here, the [Family Groups](/personal/family-groups/) page covers the live feature in more depth and is the best starting point while we finish the rest. We will keep this page updated as we get closer to launch, adding answers as features are confirmed and removing anything that becomes out of date. Sign up for launch alerts at the bottom of the page and you will hear from us the moment the new tiers go live, along with anything material we change about scope, controls, or pricing in the meantime.

What parents and guardians ask most

When will Kids and Teens accounts launch?
We are targeting Q3 2026. Sign up for launch alerts and we will email you the moment accounts open. We will not commit to a firm date until we are confident we can hit it.
Can my child have their own SOTCoin wallet today?
Not yet as a dedicated kid or teen account. In the meantime, Family Groups lets parents add a household member and set spending limits from their own wallet. Both kid and teen tiers are planned for Q3 2026.
How does Family Groups work in the meantime?
Family Groups lets you add up to four members to your SOTCoin setup with per-member daily and monthly spending limits. See the [Family Groups](/personal/family-groups/) page for current details on how to enable it.
What controls will I have when Kids accounts launch?
Parents will set per-child daily and monthly limits, schedule allowances, review activity, and adjust controls at any time. The full list of options will be confirmed closer to launch.
What is the difference between the 6-15 and 16-17 tiers?
The 6 to 15 tier is a fully supervised account with a simpler interface tuned for younger children. The 16 to 17 tier gives older teens their own login and higher default limits, with parents still able to set caps.
Will my teen still need approval for every purchase?
No. The 16 to 17 tier is designed for independence within the limits you set. Day to day spending will run without approval up to your cap, with parents notified through the dashboard rather than asked to approve each transaction.
Will there be a fee for Kids and Teens accounts?
Pricing has not been finalised. We will publish the full pricing structure before launch so families can decide in advance. Family Groups today follows the standard SOTCoin wallet pricing.
What can I do today to get ready for launch?
Enable Family Groups, add your household members, and set per-member limits. When Kids and Teens tiers open in Q3 2026, your existing setup will carry over without needing to be rebuilt.
