The phone in your apron pocket is your card reader
Tap-to-Pay on iPhone turns any compatible handset into a contactless POS. Pair a Stripe Terminal for the front counter when you need more lanes.
Built for counters, kitchens, and kerbside
Tap-to-Pay on iPhone
Any compatible iPhone becomes a reader. No dongles, no charging cables, no extra device to lose between shifts.
Stripe Terminal reader
Add a dedicated reader for busy lanes or kiosks. Pairs to the same merchant account in under a minute.
QR fallback, always on
If a card declines, the same screen shows a QR your customer can pay from their SOTCoin wallet instead.
Operator login
Each staff member signs in to their own till. Every sale tracks back to the person who rang it up.
Tips, tax, and service charges
Configure tipping, service charges, and tax behaviour per location. Set it once and forget it.
Offline-tolerant
Queue sales when the connection drops and reconcile automatically the moment you’re back online.
Start with the iPhone you already have
You don’t need to wait on a hardware shipment or sign a terminal lease to start taking card payments. If your team has a recent iPhone, you have a reader. Pair a Stripe Terminal later when a busy counter needs a dedicated lane — the merchant app handles both, so a cashier can switch between phone and reader inside the same shift without re-training.

Common questions
Which iPhones support Tap-to-Pay?
Tap-to-Pay on iPhone runs on Apple’s supported devices via Stripe Terminal. The merchant app checks compatibility on first launch and tells you if your handset qualifies.
Can I use an Android phone instead?
Android handles QR wallet acceptance fine. Card-reading on Android via Tap-to-Pay isn’t currently offered — pair a Stripe Terminal reader for cards on Android.
What if my internet goes down mid-shift?
Queued sales are stored on the device and pushed to your dashboard the moment connectivity returns. No lost tickets.
Put a full POS in every staff pocket
No leases, no setup fees, no waiting on hardware to ship.
